Jordan Scoggins continued her hot shooting in the Carbon Lady Dinos’ region opener in Mt. Pleasant on Tuesday. Carbon used a 16-7 first quarter to notch its 10th win on the season, 46-37.
Scoggins poured in 17 points on the night and was the lone Dino in double figures. Scoggins has averaged 12.5 points per game over the last six games. She hit two three pointers for the second game in a row.
Lindsey Blanc, McKenna Sorenson and Morgan Hillam each chipped in seven points and Taylor Oliver added six. The Lady Dinos held the Hawks’ leading scorer, Jacey Dunn, to 10 points. It was Dunn’s fourth lowest offensive output on the season.
With the win, Carbon has won five of its last seven games. Its two losses in that stretch have come against 4A Salem Hills and Juan Diego, who have combined to go 27-2 on the season.
The Lady Dinos will host Richfield on Thursday, Jan. 15 at 7 p.m. The game can be watched live on ETV Channel 10.
