A strong second half push tilted Tuesday’s game in favor of the Lady Spartans as the team took a victory over North Sanpete.
The first half started slow for both teams as they relied heavily on defense, going into the break with blank scores. Renewed vigor in the second half saw the Spartans pull ahead after notching three goals. Emery kept up its defense, allowing only one goal after the break to take the win, 3-1.
Three Spartans scored a goal apiece to secure the Region 15 win.
With a quick turnaround, Emery will be back on the field Thursday as the team hosts South Sevier in Castle Dale. The Spartans shutout South Sevier 6-0 earlier this season.
Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m. at Emery High School.
