Around two thirty in the afternoon yesterday, Utah Highway Patrol officers were dispatched to mile marker 221 on Highway 6 where a semi-truck had allegedly overturned. Rain that day had made roads wet.

Upon arriving at the scene, officials were able to question a witness to the accident who expressed a belief that the driver’s speed was a factor in the accident, though this factor is still under investigation.

The driver of the semi, heading eastbound, overturned his vehicle but was able to walk away from the accident with a minor wound on his arm, which was treated by a CNA who arrived on the scene before the Utah Highway Patrol officials.

An official of the UHP credited the driver’s safety to his wearing of his seat belt, and encouraged all drivers to watch road conditions and make sure to buckle up.
