SEUALG Participates in National Hunger Action Month

September is national Hunger Action Month, when the nationwide network of Feeding America food banks unites to urge individuals to take action in their communities. It is opportunity to create a movement that has a real and lasting impact on the mission to help end hunger in America. Sept. 27 is the statewide Hunger Action Month Food Drive, when the public can donate at Walmart stores statewide or at their local pantries.

Roughly, one in five Utah children are at risk of missing a meal due to lack of resources. Approximately, 472,000 Utahans are unsure where their next meal will come from.

Donations throughout the state will benefit Carbon and Emery food banks with their food assistance network, emergency food pantries and food banks.

Southeastern Utah Association of Local Governments (SEUALG) is partnering with Utah Food Bank and Feeding America for National Hunger Action Month by helping gather donations at Walmart in Price.

The public can donate non-perishable food items at Walmart locations statewide on Saturday, Sept. 27 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donations can also be made at local food pantries.
