As I look back over the events of the past week, I have to say I am honored to be a part of such a great organization. The Carbon County Sheriff’s Office is a highly motivated team dedicated to serving the citizens of Carbon County. It is an impressive sight to watch our team handle calls and pull together with our fellow agencies to solve issues in this community.
I would like to recognize Deputy Addley. He completed the Field Training Officer training and will be assisting with training our new deputies in the future.
The sheriff’s office conducted its annual firearms qualification for half of the department this week. The qualification included handguns in both daylight and a low-light qualification. I want to thank our firearms instructors for their dedication and quality instruction. The deputies were able to brave the rain to complete the training. This is just a small example to the level of dedication of the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office personnel.
I would like to remind each deputy that with the school year coming to an end, we must stay focused on school safety. Even though the children are not in school for the summer, we will take a proactive approach to providing them with a safe environment for the summer.
The sheriff’s office participated in the ATV/UTV trails grand opening in Carbon County over the weekend. I would like to thank the members of search and rescue as well as all of the deputies that assisted in the trails opening. It was a lot of fun to participate in this event and we would like to thank Shalee Johansen and her team for all of their work to put this event on.
I feel truly blessed to be part of this community and look forward to the community events ahead. I would like to remind each member of the sheriff’s office to stay positive and be safe out there. We will continue to lead our community into the future through a proactive approach to public safety. I am proud of our sheriff’s office and the good work that is being done by each and every member of our team.
