A special thank you was given to the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office and to search and rescue at Wednesday’s Carbon County Commission meeting.

Ben Clemment spoke at the meeting, thanking Sheriff Wood and the members of search and rescue for the hard work and dedication that they put forward when his son was involved in an accident this past December.

Although Clemment’s son did not make it through the accident, he was impressed with how hard working the crew members and sheriff’s office were. He stated that he appreciated greatly the effort that was put forth to keep Clemment calm in the face of tragedy.

Clemment, along with Rose Barnes, presented an award to Sheriff Jeff Wood and search and rescue. Sheriff Wood stated that he was grateful to be recognized and wanted to say thanks in return.

“There are many things that go into the life of a sheriff and search and rescue that are often tragic,” commissioner Jae Potter said. “We wanted to say thanks for your good work.”
