A generous donation from Walmart will ensure that dozens of children in need will have an exciting Christmas morning this year.
During a grand opening event for Walmart’s new fuel center on Friday morning, a representative from the business’ corporate office presented two checks to local law enforcement agencies. One check totaling $2,500 was presented to Price City Police Chief Kevin Drolc while another, good for $1,250, was given to Janalee Luke and Captain Kyle Ekker from the Emery County Sheriff’s Office. Both agencies will use the funds for their annual Shop With a Cop Program.
Each year, officers throughout Castle Country volunteer their time to participate in the Shop With a Cop Event. The day begins with breakfast for participants at McDonald’s in Price before cops load their patrol vehicles with eager children to begin their shopping trip at Walmart.
This event is made possible each year by the Walmart Foundation, supporting businesses, organizations and fundraisers.
