The Spartans hit the road on Friday with an eye toward Cedar City. Once there, Emery competed in a crucial region game against the Falcons.
Canyon View jumped out in front to the tune of 17-9. Emery began making a comeback and cut it back to four points by the final quarter.
The teams continued to duke it out, until a questionable technical foul call on the Spartans put the game out of reach. Emery ultimately fell to the Falcons 61-52.
Wade Stilson scored a career-high 20 points followed by Ryker Jensen with 12. Stilson also recorded a game-high five offensive rebounds. Brett Rasmussen anchored the defense with his 11 rebounds and two blocks.
The Spartans (5-13, 2-4) will continue on the road on Wednesday to Moab to face Grand (6-15, 0-6). They will then host senior night on Friday against Carbon (9-9, 5-2). The former game will be on ETV Channel 6 while the latter will be on ETV Channel 10. Both games can also be found online at etvnews.com/livesports.
