Carbon County resident Bart Sorenson appeared in Seventh District Court before Judge George Harmond Tuesday morning where he pled guilty to 16 counts of forcible sexual abuse. All 16 counts are second-degree felonies.

The court accepted Sorenson’s pleas and moved to schedule sentencing for March 8 at 9 a.m. Before sentencing, Sorenson was ordered to file a pre-sentence report.

While Sorenson was issued a no contact order with family members, the court also asked Sorenson at the time to refrain from attending any event where his family may be present, due to previous instances of Sorenson attending community events where family members were present.

Sorenson was arrested on July 18 of last year and booked into the Carbon County Jail. He then waived his right to a preliminary hearing in September.
