A 20-point halftime deficit was too much to overcome as the Emery Spartans fell to the South Sevier Rams Friday night, 81-53.
The Rams began hot and finished hot as they racked up 13 threes on the night. South Sevier was fresh off of 18 makes on Wednesday against North Sanpete.
Emery kept it even in the third, equaling the offensive output of South Sevier with 16 points. But another dominant quarter by the Rams in the fourth pushed the game even further out of reach.
Cade Brazier nailed four threes in the game, leading the Spartans with 16 points. It was Brazier’s sixth game with at least four makes from downtown. Behind Brazier was Easton Gordon with 13 points, including three treys. Brax Jensen chipped in nine points and Kyson Stilson and Tyler Butler combined for 15 points.
Emery (7-4, 1-1 Region 15) will host North Sanpete (9-3, 1-1 Region 15) on Wednesday. The game can be viewed live on ETV Channel 10 at 7 p.m.
