Academy Mill Reservoir

Closed

Roads out of Joes Valley may be muddy or inaccessible for highway vehicles. Seasonal closures may also be in effect. (06-09-17)

Boulger Reservoir

Fair

The reservoir is now accessible. To catch trout here, try using worms or jigs and other traditional lures. (06-09-17)

Carbon County Community Fishing Pond

Good

Good fishing for trout using PowerBait, or worms tipped with salmon eggs. (06-09-17)

Cleveland Reservoir

Good

Anglers report good fishing using crystal buggers, bead head olive leeches and other fly tackle. Traditional trout lures are also working. Please be aware, however, that access to roads and campgrounds along Skyline Drive is limited due to snow and mud. (06-09-17)

Duck Fork Reservoir

Closed

The road to the reservoir was still closed on June 6. The gate will likely open soon. Check with the Manti-La Sal National Forest for road updates. (06-09-17)

Electric Lake

Fair

Water levels are high at Electric Lake and other waters along Skyline Drive. Try using pop gear for kokanee salmon and traditional lures for trout. (06-09-17)

Fairview Lakes

Closed

Roads off of Skyline Drive to the lakes and other waters may be muddy or inaccessible for highway vehicles. (06-09-17)

Ferron Reservoir

The reservoir is now open and accessible. However, many of the campgrounds are still covered with snow. Check with the Manti-La Sal National Forest for road and campground updates. (06-09-17)

Gigliotti Pond

Good

Anglers are catching trout using worms. PowerBait and salmon eggs have also worked well. The pond was stocked with 1,500 rainbow trout on May 9. (06-09-17)

Gooseberry Reservoir

Fair

The ice is off the reservoir. To catch trout, try using worms, jigs or spinners. (06-09-17)

The lake is now open and accessible. To catch trout here, try using worms, jigs or spinners. (06-09-17)

Huntington Game Farm Pond

Good

The pond was stocked in late March, and fishing has been good for trout and bluegill. Try using PowerBait for trout. Small worms and flies have worked well for bluegill. (06-09-17)

Huntington North Reservoir

Fair

The reservoir was stocked on March 28 with about 2,000 rainbow trout. To catch the rainbows, try using night crawlers. For larger trout and wipers, spoons or spinner lures may work well. Fishing with flies has been slow. (06-09-17)

Huntington Reservoir

Fair

The reservoir is now open. Lots of tiger trout were found during recent gill net surveys. Some of these trout appear to be eating worms off the bottom, so small night crawlers might work well. (06-09-17)

Joes Valley Reservoir

Fair

Try using 1/4-ounce jig heads, with white plastic tubes or chub meat, to catch cutthroat trout, tiger trout and splake. As chubs move into the shallows to spawn, chub meat will become an especially effective bait for these large predatory fish. (06-09-17)

Knight-Ideal Community Fishing Pond

Good

Worms or PowerBait are the best baits to use to catch rainbow trout at the pond. (06-09-17)

Millsite Reservoir & State Park

Slow

Fishing has been slow to fair. Try using worms, spinners or beadhead buggers to catch trout here. (06-09-17)

Petes Hole is now open and accessible. To catch trout, try using worms or jigs, spinners and other traditional lures. (06-09-17)

Potters Ponds

Closed

The road to the ponds was still closed on June 6. The gate will likely open soon. (06-09-17)

Scofield Reservoir

Good

The water level at the reservoir is high. Some anglers have even seen fish spilling over the top of the dam. The chubs have started spawning, and anglers are having success catching them on the western shore using worms and PowerBait. Once caught, the chubs can be killed and used for bait. Scofield was stocked with more than 12,000 catchable cutthroat trout on April 20. Try using chub meat or spinners to catch the recently stocked fish and larger cutthroat trout that are also in the reservoir. (06-09-17)

Soup Bowl

Fair

Soup Bowl is now open and accessible. To catch trout, try using worms or jigs and other traditional lures. (06-09-17)

Willow Lake

Fair

The lake is now open and accessible, but roads may be muddy or otherwise hazardous. Use caution when traveling up Ferron Canyon. (06-09-17)
