The Spardettes headed north to participate in the Utah Valley University Invitational on Saturday.

There were some health complications on Emery’s team and some of the dancers were unable to perform. Despite the setback, the Spardettes finished first in hip hop, fourth in dance and military, and fifth in character. South Sevier ended on top at the competition.

“[Due to the health complications] the weekend didn’t go as well as we hoped,” said head coach Shelby Bagley. “But, we are excited to get things taken care of and be ready for the next one in January.”

Emery will next compete at the Sevier Valley Center on Jan. 11.
