The turn of the calendar signified the approaching 2021 drill season. The schedule was pushed back to January due to COVID-19, so the teams were even more excited to get underway this year than in years prior. The Spardettes were no exception when they traveled to compete at the Central Utah Classic in Richfield last weekend.

“It went really well,” said head coach Shelby Bagley. “We had awesome performances that we were super proud of.”

Unfortunately, a few penalties led to deductions, which hurt Emery’s scores. With that said, the Spardettes still had an excellent showing and finished third in military, fourth in show, fifth in hip hop and sixth in dance.

“It was a still a great learning experience and we are just going to fix the things we need to and come back stronger next week,” Bagley concluded. The Spardettes will next compete in Delta this coming weekend.
