By placing third in Military, second in Dance and second in Character, the Emery High Spardettes finished second place overall in the Region 12 Drill Competition in Richfield on Tuesday.
“We have come a very long way, and we have worked really hard,” said sophomore dancer Savannah Woolsey. “We wanted region, but we can take state.”
The Spardettes also captured some individual awards at the competition.
Alyssa Mann was named an All-Region Team Choice Dancer.

Rikelle Larsen was named both Academic All-Region and All-State Team Choice Dancer.
The Spardettes next travel to UVU for the state competition Feb. 4.
