Sparse Attendance Leads to Little Public Lands Business

Only a few reports were given Tuesday because Board and Council members failed to attend the Emery County Public Lands meeting.

Manti-Lasal National Forest representatives announced that the organization would extend this year’s grazing period. Representatives credited a good production year and a later start to grazing for the extension.

Representatives also reported that the area hadn’t experienced a fire this year. Nor prescribed burns have been planned for the remainder of the year.

Utah State Parks and Recreation personnel reported that a young Bull Moose swam across the water at Huntington State Park a few days ago.

They also said park personnel would soon winterize and close campsites for the winter season.

A recording of the meeting will be broadcast on ETV Channel 10.
