The Spartans improved to 3-1 on the year with their win against Maeser Prep on Monday. Emery played its fast-paced game and was active all night. The Lions never looked comfortable due to Emery’s suffocating defense, including 12 Spartan steals. Emery scored 47 points in the first half while holding Maeser Prep to 19.
It was a good shooting night for the Spartans, who converted on 50% of their field goals. Jordan Ekker lead the way with 21 points and hit five three-pointers in the contest. Brax Jensen recorded a double-double with 16 points and 12 assists. Kyler Wilstead was just shy of another double-double with 12 points and seven rebounds. Justin Rasmussen had a team-high eight rebounds. Many youngsters joined the action as 10 different Spartans were involved in the scoring. Emery went on to win 80-51.
Emery (3-1) continues a busy week. The Spartans will play the winless Cougars (0-2) at Union on Tuesday before returning home to host Juab (2-3) on Friday.
