The Emery High Lady Spartans volleyball team traveled to Payson High School on Thursday night for a matchup. The sophomore and junior varsity games were a tough loss as well as varsity.
The Spartans dropped the first match 25-19 as well as the second 25-15. They struggled in the third go around, but with the help of the sophomore substitutes, they came back victorious 25-22. The Payson Lions pulled through the fourth game and won it all, 25-11.
While it is still preseason, the Lady Spartans only have room for improvement.
“I think my team works hard, has a lot of hustle and shows a ton of potential. If we always play hard and as a team, we will go far this season.” said head coach Kris Bell.
Emery will host Altamont on Tuesday, with the varsity game beginning at 6 p.m.
