Emery baseball is optimistic has it looks to the upcoming season. The strong point of the team this year includes its nine seniors.
Cade Braizer is a lefty ace for the Spartans, Kyson Stilson will leadoff in the batting order and play on the left side of the infield while Koda Alton will pitch and play third base. The Spartans will also look for contributions from their four juniors, several sophomores and a few talented freshman.
“Our ultimate goal is to win region,” said head coach Rob Smith.
Richfield is the team to beat in a very competitive region. Grand had a strong team last year but lost several key seniors. State champs, Granstville, only lost a few seniors from last year’s team and look poised to compete for another state title.
The Spartans have had little time on the field and in live batting practice due to the snow but hope to make up for lost time quickly. They will head to play a tournament in Mesquite this weekend.
