With playoff seeding already settled, the Emery Spartans had really only one thing to play for Tuesday night; the outgoing seniors. Emery pulled out a 53-49 win against North Sevier to send the old guys off right.
Emery point guard Bailey Faimalo led the team with 26 points and senior Spencer Labrum finished with 11.
North Sevier battled back after falling behind by more than 10 points in the first half to actually take a lead going into the fourth quarter. Three straight buckets from senior Dawson Jensen under the basket (see highlights below) in the final quarter spurred the Spartans past the Wolves for the win.
North Sevier’s Dakota Shepherd led all scorers in the game with 28.
Emery finishes the season at 13-7, with a 7-3 record in region play. The Spartans will take on Manti in the first round of the 2A Playoffs this Friday at Orem High School. The game will start at 9 a.m.
