The Emery Spartans hosted their lone golf tournament of the season at Millsite Golf Course on Tuesday, coming out with a third place finish.
With 344 strokes, the team finished just behind Grand with 330 and Manti with 338. San Juan came in fourth with 384 followed by North Sevier and Gunnison tying for last with 403.
“Race Nielson and Kyler Farley shot their best scores of the season and Oakley Toomer was as consistent as always, but it was only good enough for a third place finish,” said head coach Kevin Reynolds. “Manti played very well on our home course.”
Nielson led the team with 80 followed by Oakley Toomer with 84. Farley finished the tournament with 88 and Shaidyn Killpack rounded out the scoring with 92. McKoy Holt and Deryk Fuller also competed for the Spartans, hitting 101 and 112, respectively.
