The hosting Beavers couldn’t stop the Lady Spartans’ offense on Tuesday as Emery took a dominating shutout win in pre-region play.
The Lady Spartans could not be stopped in the first half as the team netted six goals before the break while shutting out the Beavers. Both teams slowed in the second half and went scoreless, giving Emery the 6-0 win.
Sydney Stilson led the Spartan offense with two goals. Alexis Winter, Chloe Sermon, Morgan Hurdsman and Sophie Huntington each netted one goal apiece to lead the Spartans to victory.
Kiri Cook headed the defense from the net, recording the shutout for Emery.
Emery will take on another non-region foe on Thursday as the team hosts Gunnison Valley in Castle Dale. Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m. The Spartans will open region play next week with a game against North Sanpete on Aug. 28.
