Looking to notch their first win of the season before 3A North action begins next week, the Emery Spartans hosted the Manti Templars on Friday night, losing to their 3A foe 28-0.

Emery has scored just 33 total points (8.25 points per game) during its current four-game losing streak to begin the season.

Emery’s best chance to score in the game came at the 9:25 mark of the fourth when kicker Brock Winter just missed a 41-yard field goal.

Down 7-0 at the half, the Spartans saw the Templars score 21 points in the second half to improve their record to 3-1.

Emery (0-4, 0-0 3A North) will begin 3A North action on Friday at Judge Memorial. Both teams are winless on the season.
