The Emery High Spartan basketball team went 1-1 in Duchesne over the weekend, beating Rich 60-53 and losing to Duchesne by the same score.
Dallon Cologie scored 25 points to spark Emery against Rich in the Friday night game. Brendon Jorgensen and Dawson Jensen followed with 11 points each.
Emery employed a more balanced scoring attack Saturday against Duchesne as eight Spartans scored in the game.
Bailey Faimalo and Jorgensen led the Spartans with 11 points each. Freshman Dillon Wilstead and Cologie chipped in with nine points each.
Emery simply couldn’t overcome the combination of a 26-point outburst by Mike Dye and a huge free throw disparity. The home team attempted 45 free throws during the game. Emery attempted 25.
Emery next hosts Canyon View at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
