The Spartans golf team notched third place in Richfield on Tuesday, finishing just one stroke behind second place Manti.
McKoy Holt led the team with 78 points followed by Oakley Toomer with 83. Race Nielsen shot 91 for the Spartans and Deryk Fuller rounded out the scoring with 94. Kyler Farley and Shaidyn Killpack also took to the course for Emery.
“McKoy Holt had a great round shooting just six over for the round and shooting par on the back nine,” Kevin Reynolds said. “Emery shot it’s lowest total score of the season.”
The team finished the day with 347 points behind Grand with 328 and Manti with 346. North Sevier finished the day in fourth with 388 followed by San Juan with 390.
The Spartans will look to improve their rank as they travel to Monticello on Sept. 8.
