Emery High School swimmers began practicing on September 23. The team will kick off the season with a home meet on Wednesday against Uintah and Gunnison.
Coaches this year will be Andrea Johansen, Lance Whitesel, and Kaylee Van Wagoner. Swim meets will usually take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with a few Wednesday and weekend meets.
Because of how well the Spartans performed last year, winning the 2A Championship, they have a lot of potential this year.
“I think the season’s going to be great,” Johansen said. “We have over 40 kids this year. The boys are strong and the girls are young, but we will be strong because of numbers.”
