Carbon Caring for Kids is preparing for spring break, which is slated to begin for the Carbon School District in two weeks. The organization is looking for volunteers that would be willing to sponsor a child for the break.
They have received donations of cereal, peanut butter and jelly that will be provided for the kits this year, though there are other items needed for the 160 kits that will be distributed. The items are needed by Tuesday, March 28 at 12 p.m. as there is a group that will be packing the kits that evening.
Those that are willing to sponsor a child will need to purchase the food listed, deliver the food to 1551 West Cedar Drive in Price and transfer the food into the provided bags. There will be a tote with bags in them outside the garage door that can be picked up before or transferred upon drop-off.
Each kit should contain five microwavable Chef Boyardee meals, two tuna or chicken and crackers of any flavor, and six to eight fruit cups. There should also be four applesauce pouches or cups, eight granola bars, and eight to 10 individual snacks, a variety if possible.
“Thank you so much for you help,” shared Carbon Caring for Kids’ Marcy Loveless. “This is a big job to accomplish this every single week, so your help is more than appreciated.”
