The Carbon Dinos began the season with a road contest at 4A Springville Tuesday afternoon. Two runs by the Red Devils in the bottom of the sixth allowed them to slip by the Dinos 3-1.
Carbon tied the game a one apiece in the top of the third on an RBI base hit by Trey Richardson. Cole Fossat had two hits in the game to lead the Dinos.
Mitch Olson was credited with the loss on the mound.
Carbon (0-1, 0-0 Region 12) will play four games over Friday and Saturday as it takes part in the Pizza Hut Classic in St. George. The Dinos will take on Dixie and Tooele on Friday and Stansbury and a to-be-determined opponent on Saturday.
