The San Rafael Junior High volleyball team edged Canyon View Junior High three games to two Wednesday afternoon in Ferron.

CVJH head coach Bill Wright said the service game was a huge part of the difference in the match.

“We just have to up our focus a little more on our serving and put it in,” Wright said. “We were a little weak on serve return as well, which was our Achilles Heal today. San Rafael did a nice job.”

Wright went on to explain the final score was immaterial in the end.

“I want the players to know that the game is about having fun,” Wright said. “They tried hard and made a good effort. At this level, we’re just worried about fundamentals, and I think we had a lot of opportunities to spike and block … it was fun.”
