At the Castle Dale City Council meeting on Thursday, council members voted against people bringing in shipping containers as storage sheds on their property.
Kerry Lake from planning and zoning approached the land use committee several months ago with a proposed ordinance to allow the containers. However, the committee was opposed to the use, claiming they are “unsightly.”
Those who already have the shipping containers on their property will be grandfathered in and will be allowed to keep their containers.
The Castle Dale City Council stated that a temporary install is allowed and they will decide the number of days it will be permitted.
