BLM Press Release
In February, a dozen Utah State University Eastern (USU-Eastern) students from the Serving Utah Network (SUN Center), along with BLM Price Field Office employees, enjoyed a sunny spring day outdoors working on a public lands service project.
The student volunteers kicked off their day learning about the significance of rock art sites and the importance of protecting natural and cultural heritage sites like the ones at Daddy Canyon and Nine Mile Canyon. They explored the culturally-rich site and then got busy cleaning the adjacent picnic area, updating kiosk information, and improved the walking trail by trimming vegetation and moving rocks. The trail looked great when they were done, and they even had a little extra time to visit other popular rock art sites in Nine Mile Canyon. The BLM Price Field Office would like to thank the SUN Center volunteers for all their help!
For more information about Nine Mile Canyon or volunteer opportunities, please contact the BLM Price Field Office at 435-636-3600. Please remember to respect and protect cultural sites when visiting them.#Respectandprotect #funallowed #takeitoutside
