Students At San Rafael Compete In Dutch Oven Cookoff

Students at San Rafael Junior High participated in their annual Dutch oven cookoff on Thursday morning. Jodi Wilson is the teacher for the Family and Consumer Science Club.

Students prepared main dishes and desserts in Dutch ovens. After each dish was completed, students served samples to the judges. The judges were Emery High Sterling Scholars.

First place for the main dish went to Taylor Lindsey and Dax Hall. Second place went to Montana Allred and Cedar Jewkes and third place was awarded to Bailey Huggard and Brodie Tuttle. The winner for desserts went to Angelina Migliori and Teaha Lowery. Second place went to Tia Hulse and Kelsey Hulse while Chloe Sermon and Grace Christensen came in third.

There were also several judges choice awards. Best cobbler went to Jacob Behling and Zak Anderson while est campfire treat went to Gage Crawford and Jennifer Funk. The best presentation award was given toHallie Leroy and Kim Fausett and the most creative award went to Mckray Duncan and Shelbee Murdoch. The dish made by Addi Jeffs and Kaelee Hooley was dubbed most unique.

All participants received certificates and winners also received cash prizes.
