Third grade students from schools throughout Carbon County recently took time from learning about everyday school subjects to learn more about where their food comes from during a farm field day that took place at the Carbon County Fairgrounds.
The young students learned various agriculture subjects from Carbon Jr. Livestock 4H members and Carbon County Farm Bureau individuals. Some of these topics included learning about cows, a visual presentation on how to sheer a sheep, how to keep food safe from germs and much more.
The field trip also taught the third-graders that eggs, honey, hamburger and other products don’t just come from a store, but an actual farm.
The schools included Wellington Elementary, Sally Mauro Elementary, Pinnacle Canyon Academy, Creekview Elementary, Castle Heights Elementary and Bruin Point Elementary.
