Sixth grade students from Pinnacle Elementary traveled to Washington DC last month to earn a better understanding of the countries history. During the week long trip, students visited national landmarks and museums.

Funding for the trip comes from fundraisers and donations gathered during the student’s fifth grade year. According to Pinnacle Elementary Principal Mark Stuckenschneider, the students learn extensively about US history in fifth grade followed by the cross country trip the following year. “We feel that the trip gives the students a better understanding of the nation’s history,” Stuckenschneider explained.

Participants from this year’s trip brought home several photos and many memories of their Washington DC adventure.
