Emery rodeo team members Race Gordon, Zeek Weber, Kayson Jensen, Byron Christiansen and Ruger Payne had a very successful state finals run in Heber City Friday and Saturday.
Payne scored well in the rifle shoot and will be competing at nationals. Weber, Jensen and Christiansen made it to the final go on Saturday. Jensen and Christiansen also earned their way to nationals in Lebanon, Tenn. on June 18-24. They will both be competing in the rough stock events: bulls, broncs and bare backs. Christiansen will also compete in boys’ break away and goats.
Christiansen also won reserve champion all-around for the past year and was selected as saddle bronc representative on the Cinch all-star state team.
