Utah’s Perfect Game League has taken over summer baseball and Carbon has two teams competing. The scout team, made up of younger players, and the varsity prep teams have been in action the past week and have compiled a 1-5 record (scout 0-3, varsity 1-2).

The varsity squad lost to Maple Mountain on June 1 8-4 and then lost to Springville 9-6 on Wednesday. The team picked up its first win on Thursday with a thrashing of Timpview 14-0. In the win, Jayden Flemett notched two triples and Emery’s Tel Gardner picked up the win on the mound.

“So far I have been very pleased with our effort and the competition in this perfect game league is all I hoped it would be,” head coach Jeff Cisneros said.

The teams will travel to Timpanogos on Monday and will then host Mt. View in Helper on Wednesday. Games will begin at 5 and 7 p.m.
