Castleview Hospital and United Way teamed up to hold a Valentines day bake sale at the Hospital on Thursday.

The Charitable Events committee at the hospital came up with the idea and ask staff and physicians to donate to the sale. The United Way Board of Directors and others also added to the items donated.

Proceeds from the sales will go to the United Way Cancer Support Program. This is a newly created fund to provide some direct support to area residents that are diagnosed with cancer and need assistance with some of the costs associated with the treatment.

Needing help to cover medical bills, or supplies, wigs and transportation costs are just some of the expenses that would qualify for the fund. Request for assistance will be taken by physician referral directly to United Way. All money is staying local.
