Pinnacle Academy boys basketball team kicked off their home season with a 66-32 loss to the Tabiona Tigers on Friday night.
The Panthers came out with energy in the first quarter to take the Tigers by surprise. However, Tabiona regained its footing and had a 20-point lead by the half.
Coach Cameron Gardner said Tabiona was probably expecting Pinnacle would just roll over, but his team came out with a lot of energy and fought hard in the first half. He also felt they didn’t bring the same fire to the second half of play.
Jackson Nichols and Cody Dean Sanchez led the Panthers with eight each. Levi Rutherford added seven in the losing effort.
