The Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) has an incentive program that awards a rural county business, such as businesses found in Carbon County, $100,000 to assist in an expansion project.

The previous year, Intermountain Electronics of Carbon County was awarded this incentive, titled the Targeted Business Tax Credit (TBTC) Program.

Carbon County Economic Development Specialist Rita Vigor has worked hard to provide this option to the county once more, visiting the separate city councils to ensure that all steps were taken to bring this program to the area again. Only three companies in the state will be awarded the TBTC.

“I would really like to see another Carbon County businesses awarded again this year,” Vigor stated.

There are certain requirements and restrictions to qualify for the TBTC. A full list of those requirements, as well as additional information, can be found here.

If you own a business that is looking to expand or know of a business that would be interested in applying, contact or forward information to Vigor directly by calling (435) 636-3295 or emailing cced@carbon.utah.gov.
