Castle Heights Elementary teacher Steve Lasslo was awarded the prestigious Teacher of the Year Award by AJB Broadcasting this week.
Part of the Apples for Teachers program, the award is given to one teacher each year for their outstanding effort and dedication in the classroom.
“Thank you Mr. Lasslo for all that you do,” AJB Broadcasting shared.
Teachers are nominated by students, colleagues or parents of students who recognize the asset caring teachers are to local youth. Lasslo was nominated by Ava Brady, who was present when her favorite teacher was given his award.
Apples for Teachers will begin again in September and, according to AJB Broadcasting, there will be a new twist on the program for the upcoming school year.
