Press Release

Members of Team PERKIE joined thousands of participants in 2016 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Salt Lake City on May 7. Proceeds from the race benefit many non-profit organizations in Utah as well as fund research.

Active Re-Entry has been a recipient of Susan G. Komen Utah Affiliate funding for the past 16 years. This is the main funding source for PERKIE Travels, which enables the program to provide free transportation to Provo for Carbon and Emery residents who need daily radiation treatments. To date, Active Re-Entry PERKIE Travels has received $186,300 from the Komen Utah Foundation to keep this service available free of charge for local residents.

Donations from individuals, local agencies and organizations, including United Way, Nancy Boyle’s Silpada Designs, United Methodist Women, SNPJ Lodge #757 and Xi Alpha Zeta, help with additional funding for the program.
