COVID-19 is revealing to us the interconnectedness of our world, our nation, our state and our community. It is showing us the health and wellbeing of ONE is intimately bound to the health and wellbeing of ALL. This virus has given us the opportunity to rise to the occasion and care for one another. It is our responsibility to come together to love, nourish and protect those around us.
By following the measures that the Southeastern Utah Health Department and our Governor have enacted, this will lessen the chance of you or someone you love getting the virus. We are doing our part at Eastern Utah Women’s Health to ensure your safety and the safety of our community! We are open, and thanks to the CARES Act, we are revolutionizing healthcare by implementing telehealth!
If you currently have an appointment scheduled, please plan on Telehealth. We realize that some visits just cannot be done in this manner, but we want to limit face to face visits as much as possible to decrease your exposure. We can do almost everything through Telehealth. If you need to be seen in the office, we will have you come in after your telehealth visit, at staggered times, to provide for appropriate social distancing.
Here are a few common concerns about telehealth.
- Your insurance will pay for your telehealth visit period. Whether your visit is by phone, through a “face to face” app or via text. Unfortunately, co-pays and deductibles still apply.
- Some women have told me that they are not tech-savvy. No problem! We can connect through a telephone call. It’s that simple!
- If you are tech-savvy, we can connect and see each other. We are using our Patient Portal for e-Visits, FaceTime, Google Hangouts and Zoom. Let us know which one you prefer!
- A telehealth visit is required before your in-office visit to limit your time in the office. You will NOT be charged twice. We will continue to have in-office visits for those who do not have any symptoms (fever, cough, shortness of breath, etc.) of COVID-19. These visits include contraception injections, inserts and removals. They also include lumps, bumps, urine testing for UTIs and STIs, or anything else we need to look at.
- Have you lost your insurance? We have you covered through our Primary Care Grant, Family Planning Elevated Grant, USUE Student Health Services Partnership and our STI Testing Grant. Just let us know when you schedule an appointment. Please help us spread the word that we have these programs to help those in need.
Thank you for trusting us to care for you during these uncertain times. Be assured we are here for you and doing everything possible to keep you healthy and safe. If we all do our part, we will protect those we love!
