Press Release

A test demonstration of the Community Alert Warning System will be held on April 27, 2019 at 3 p.m. in the city of East Carbon. The test site will be on the hill behind the East Carbon ball field.

This test will demonstrate the ability of one unit to provide an emergency communication system to the community in the event of an emergency.

This test will provide a very loud air raid siren sound plus a simultaneous interrupted three-tone sound. The system will also be capable of voice communication by local control or control by communication derived from another location. Also, there will be an FM broadcast of the entire test on 104.3 mhz on the standard FM radio dial.

The reason for the re-broadcast on the FM radio dial is two-fold:

  1. So that the announcements can be heard and understood further than the audio voice communications could be understood
  2. To relay the alert to other units to be built within the coverage area to be rebroadcast.

This system is being designed and tested by Alex Vajda and Ron Croteau, concerned East Carbon residents.

Comments should be directed to Alex on his email address: asubav@yahoo.com.
