Two Texas colleges are recruiting local high school rodeo team members. Odessa College and South Plains College are both two-year institutions with extensive rodeo programs.
Odessa College has offered Afton McCourt and Austin Allred tuition, fees, books and stalls for their horses to join its rodeo team this fall. McCourt will participate in barrels, break-away roping, team roping and goat tying. Allred is being recruited as a bull rider. Odessa College is located in Odessa, Texas, which is located between El Paso and Austin.
South Plains College offered Hadley Cloward and Louie Ivie tuition, books, fees, housing and meal tickets. The college will also provide stalls for their horses. Cloward and Ivie will both participate in team roping as well as tie-down roping on the team. They will begin fall semester. South Plains College is located in Levelland, Texas, which is close to Lubbock.
