The Boys & Girls Club of Carbon County’s second annual masquerade ball benefit was celebrated at The Tuscan on Saturday evening.
There were around 80 or 90 people in attendance at the ball. The Tuscan donated the venue and gave the Club a good deal on dinner prices. Tony Basso GM and Castleview Hospital purchased the tables used for the event.
One of the highlights of the evening, according to club director Josie Luke, was the live band called Bobo’s Revenge. According to Luke, they were a really fun group and many of the guests danced after dinner. There was also a photographer, Lavan Hall, that brought a backdrop and took photos at no cost to the guests.
The Boys & Girls Club member that received the Youth of the Year Award, Fawn Powell, and Miss Carbon County Aajah Breinholt both spoke to the crowd about the effect that the Club had made on them; Fawn as a member and Aajah as a club volunteer.
Price Walmart, Price Theaters, Fitness World, Main Street Grill, Fire & Ice Photography, Hard Hat Furniture and other local businesses graciously donated prizes for the drawing.
“It is always exciting to see members of the community gather to support our Club,” Luke said. “Without people who believe in our work enough to support us, the Boys & Girls Club would not be available to the youth who benefit from coming.
“The board of the Boys & Girls Club put in a huge amount of work to host the masquerade ball, and in our second year organizing this benefit, we feel like we really had an event the guests could enjoy. The staff and kids at the Club owe so much gratitude to those who attended, those who decorated and organized, and those who donated to the event,” Luke concluded.
