This Friday night (August 23rd)  at 11:00 p.m. is the 4th Annual Lunatic Triathlon, which will begin and end at the Wave Pool and Washington Park. For the last four years members of the community have been able to get together and do a truly unique night time triathlon under a full moon.  This year there will be 75 participants almost all of which are locals.

The event will begin at Washington Park with participants running and biking through Price and Carbonville and finishing with a swim in the outdoor wave pool. Of the 75 participants, there will be 14 teams and 40 individuals. All will be competing for pride and fun. There are no medals or prizes awarded for finishing.

There are teams of all ages including one that is made up of an 80 year old and a 40 year old. One team has members ranging in age from their 50s,60s and 70s. Another team is made up of three teen brothers.

The moon will be waning, but still fairly full. Participants will be donned in glow sticks, headlamps and anything else useful to guide their way. The community is urged to come out and cheer these racers on as they wind their way around Price and Carbonville late Friday night.
