The Emery Spartans pounded Carbon on Thursday 15-2 at Carbon High in six innings.

The Spartans scored six runs in the fifth on an error, an RBI single by Kambrie Hinkins, a two-run single by Amber Peterson and a two-run single by Jessica Mason.

Peterson racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Spartans.

Ashton Bell got it done in the circle on the way to a win. She allowed two runs over six innings. She struck out two, walked four and surrendered four hits.

Nelson was charged with the loss in the circle. She lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out none and allowed five runs.

The Spartans went up for good in the first, scoring two runs on a solo home run by Gentry Noyes.

The Spartans got one-run rallies in the third inning and the fourth. In the third, the Spartans scored on an error, bringing home Hailee Beckstead.

Carbon scored two runs in the bottom of the third to cut its deficit to one. A two-run home run by Lauren Rice fueled Carbon’s comeback. But, Bell got Taylor Passerella to fly out to end the inning.
