Last May, Principal Hughes wrote a grant requesting the $500.00 /day funding for the Utah STEM Bus to visit Cottonwood Elementary. The grant was received, but the desire for this bus statewide was so overwhelming that they had to wait until the end of September for the bus to visit the school. Accompanying the bus were two instructors, one in the bus and the other in a classroom. Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics subjects were introduced to the students.
The sponsors of this touring program include Andeavor, Boeing, Adobe, Larry and Gail Miller Family Foundation, VCBO Architects, MHTN Architects, Comcast, UTA, inFlash, Shell Oil and Hill Air Force Base.
