Three Suspects Taken into Custody in Connection with Helper Kidnapping and Robbery

On December 2, around 1:00p.m., Helper City officers were dispatched to a kidnapping and robbery call.

Officers determined that an adult male subject had been kidnapped from his home in Helper, and driven to a remote location in Carbon County.The victim was tied up and forced to give over his possessions. The suspects thenВ allegedlyВ stole money from his bank account and his vehicle from his residence. The victim had to walk several miles through rough terrain and through the dark to find help.

Through police work between the Carbon County Sheriff’s Department, Price City Police, Sandy City Police, Moapa Tribal Police (Nevada), and Helper City Police, three suspects have been apprehended and taken into custody. They are Hannah Downard 04/21/1991, Monty Charles Emmons 06/07/1988, and Justin Marrs 06/06/1990.

All three suspects face charges for aggravated kidnapping, aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, theft, possession of a dangerous weapon, and unlawful use of a credit card. Ms.Downard and Mr. Emmons are currently being held at the Carbon County Jail. Mr. Marrs is currently incarcerated at the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The incident is still under investigation.
