Grako’s Tire Pros opened its doors in Carbon County in the early 80s. Originally starting out on Carbon Avenue, the business later relocated to Price City’s Main Street.

In 2022, the community learned that the business was being purchased by Tire Buster’s Supreme Auto Care, who boasts two other locations in Utah. In 2023, Tire Buster’s celebrated their one year anniversary with the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce, the community and their staff.

Seemingly overnight, the business closed their doors in Price recently. Gabe Dunn of Tire Buster’s in Payson, who is a co-owner of the business, explained that the reason for the closure boiled down to it being extremely difficult to staff the location.

Dunn stated that originally, they had a really great manager staffing the business. The manager experienced a family tragedy a little over a year ago and was unable to return to manage. Following that, they had a hard time finding the right person to manage and staff it, getting to the point that it cost too much.

In regard to the future of the building itself, Dunn stated that the building is currently for sale and there has been some feelers out. Dunn also said that there is no likely plans for Tire Buster’s to return.
