Utah State Eastern sophomore forward Kaitlin Toluono has been named the Scenic West Athletic Conference women’s basketball player of the week.
Toluono led the Eagles to a 93-91 overtime victory over the College of Southern Idaho Golden Eagles on Saturday.
It was her first game back from injury that sidelined her for a week and she scored a team-high 23 points and 13 rebounds along with four assists.
Her performance in the third quarter, where she scored 10 points and five rebounds, helped the Eagles come back and force overtime.
This season, she is averaging nearly a double-double with nine points and 9.5 rebounds per game. She also ranks twentieth in the country in total rebounds with 212.
Toluono and the Eagles are 16-8 overall and 3-4 in conference this season.
This Thursday, the Eagles host Snow College at 5:30 p.m. inside the BDAC. Admission is free to the public and there will free food while supplies last.
